Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run; Driver Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter and DWI

A cyclist in his 60s was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the northeast side of the city Friday night.

Police found that 51-year-old Bruce Bugbee struck the cyclist with his 2019 Chevy Silverado and fled the scene, allegedly while intoxicated and with a child in the vehicle.

Bugbee was later located by New York State troopers at a residence in Ontario County.

He faces multiple charges, including vehicular manslaughter and aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law.

The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s identity will be released later.
