COVID-19 Relief Bill Enters The Senate This Week

American legislatures are hopeful that President Joe Biden will be able to sign in the newest COVID-19 relief bill in the next couple of weeks.

This week, the Senate will be voting on the bill that has a higher price tag than former President Obama’s stimulus plan. The biggest item in thebill is the $1400 cash payments that would be directly distributed to the American people.

While one half focuses on getting cash to the hands that need it most, the other side is mostly aid to state governments and includes funding for schools and vaccine distribution.

The bill is also very popular with the American people. A recent poll shows that 70% of Americans — even Republicans — would like to see the bill pass.

Melissa Karn, 53, a Trump voter from the Phoenix suburbs, said:

“People need help right now, and I’m OK with my tax dollars doing that.”
