City Councilman Willie Lightfoot has officially succeeded former City Councilman Adam McFadden as Rochester City Council Vice President.

He was nominated by current City Council President Loretta Scott who said, “He is an experienced legislator who has demonstrated his commitment to the community over an extended period of time.”

Lightfoot  has been on the Rochester City Council for a little more than a year and is a retired City of Rochester firefighter. He also served three terms in the Monroe County Legislature since 2006.

City Council Members voted on the matter on Tuesday, which was unanimous. Lightfoot is expected to move into the role immediately and serve through December 31, 2019, the remainder of the current term.
