Converse removed a social media ad after critics said the image reminded them of the Ku Klux Klan and lynching.

The ad showed K-pop singer Karina holding Converse sneakers. Critics said the image contained shapes that looked like racist symbols.

Converse apologized, saying it “got this wrong” and removed the ad. The company did not explain how the ad was approved.
