Waterview Heights Rehabilitation Center is under investigation after a resident’s account lost $7,500 due to internal theft. A facility spokesperson confirmed the issue dated back to January and that an employee was fired following a police report. Despite promises of reform—including 18 staffing and policy upgrades—residents report little visible improvement. Waterview is classified as a Special Focus Facility by NY’s Department of Health due to chronic compliance issues and harm to residents. The facility is now under new leadership and weekly state monitoring.
