Claressa Shields Reveals Why Papoose & Pre-Fight Intimacy Don’t Mix

Listen, when it comes to a big fight, Claressa Shields doesn’t play any games — even it means keeping things low-key with Papoose. While chatting with Sherri Shepherd, the boxing champ let folks in on how she preps for her matches. She said getting ready for her big moment takes a lot, including refraining from being  intimate with Pap. “I gotta not have sex with my man for six weeks […] I gotta do all this stuff.” But Shields made it clear that even while staying disciplined, she always makes sure her man is good. “Listen for me I can’t do that stuff, but for him..I make sure that he’s taken care of and he’s good. But me, I’m like nah.” 

Sherri Shepherd made sure to get a response from Papoose about his lady’s prep. He told the audience he understands that she has to stay focused and does his part to stay disciplined too. “I understand it. I know she has to discipline herself and prepare for the fight properly, so it’s all about discipline on my end as well,” the rapper added. In response Claressa hyped her bae up saying, “See, he’s very mature. I got a mature man!”

Shields didn’t just spill on her pre-fight prep. Sherri also put her on the spot about when she and Papoose plan to get engaged. Rumors have been swirling about the couple tying the knot, but when asked if that’s happening soon, Claressa said, “Well I can’t propose to myself. I mean if I could I would.” She did add that she thinks it’ll go down eventually, and when it does, it has to big a BIG moment. “I believe that’s definitely in our future, but he gotta plan that cause that gotta be BIG!” Shields added, “I’m like a go big or stay home kind of girl.” 

Boxer Reacts To Previous Engagement Rumors After Marriage Video Surfaces

Questions about whether Pap and Claressa tied the knot popped up in November after a video showed her talking about marriage. But Claressa quickly jumped in and let folks know the video was old and recorded when she was previously engaged to someone else. In the clip, Shields says, “You see this big ring on my finger Bling! Bling! Bling! Engaged.” Even though the footage looked recent, she confirmed it was from “three years ago.”
