City Of Rochester Will Not Extended Downtown Parking Hours

If you are one of the people who did not want the City of Rochester to extended parking hours Downtown to 8am-8pm you just got what you asked for, kind of. 
Mayor Lovely Warren and the City of Rochester announced Tuesday they will not extend parking hours from 8am – 6pm to 8am – 8pm.
BUT, you will have to pay 50 cents more for the hourly parking rate. So the daytime hourly rate will go from $1.50 to $2.00 per hour for parking in downtown.
The increase in the hourly rate is one of the ways the city intendeds to fill the budget gap.
The city will not enforce to extended hour parking which went into effect July 2nd. The new plan needs to be approved by City Council on August 21 when they meet.
“I’m thankful that our community was able to come together to achieve a result that helps the city maintain its budget projections and helps our citizens at the same time, this is a win-win solution for our entire community,” Mayor Warren said to 13 WHAM news.
