Chris Brown and Young Thug drop new mixtape

Written by on May 6, 2020

Weeks ago, Chris Brown and Young Thug teased they were working on a new mixtape together in April but left fans guessing when the mixtape would be released. Thankfully, fans did not have too long to wait and on May 5th, Brown’s birthday, the pair decided to drop their mixtape, officially named ‘Slime & B’.

The mixtape contains 13 tracks and features artists such as Future, Gunna, E-40, Too $hort and Lil Duke. The mixtape was created whilst both the artists were dealing with COVID-19 restrictions and reflects the uncertain and unprecedented situation we are all going through. This is the first feature-length release from Brown since his 2019 studio album ‘Indigo’.

In the last decade, mixtapes have become a great way for artists to create something collaborative together outside of the pressure and constraints of creating a studio album. For example, Future and Drake dropped the highly successful mixtape ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ in 2015.

Brown has been promoting the album on his Instagram account (@Chrisbrownofficial) and many Tarantino fans will notice art posted on his social media depicts Brown and Young Thug in Kill Bill-inspired cartoon outfits.

Have you listened to the mixtape? Let us know what your thoughts and opinions are!
