Yesterday, the nominees for the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced by Lilly Collins and Daveed Diggs on Instagram Live.
The nominees included actors from many different roles and backgrounds who’s performances deserved recognition over the past year.
Some of the selections included Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman, for their roles in Neflix’s adaptation of the August Wilson play “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
This nomination puts Boseman in the record books as his legacy includes becoming the first person to be nominated for 4 SAG awards for lead performance in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” his supporting role in “Da 5 Bloods,” and for his work in the ensembles of both films.
