CDC To Update Its COVID-19 Guidance: Recommending Face Masks Worn Indoors Includes Fully Vaccinated

Written by on July 30, 2021

And just like that CDC is recommending masks be worn indoors even if you are fully vaccinated. The Center For Disease Control and Prevention is expected to update its guidance on Tuesday. They are also recommending face masks for all individuals in K-12 schools.

The update comes as Covid-19 cases beginning to rise once again across the nation. Less than half of the country is fully vaccinated 49.7% according to Reuters. There is also a rise in breakthrough Covid-19 cases in people who are vaccinated.

Back in May, the CDC updated its guidance to relax the use of face masks among people who are fully vaccinated. Some cities like Chicago and Los Angeles have already put the indoor face mask policy back in place.

As this recommendation comes from the CDC I think all people including fully vaccinated people should be tested I do not think testing should have stopped. If we are learning about the vaccines as we go along how do we truly know if it works or not if we are not testing for the virus?
