CDC Extends Mask Mandate for Travelers

If you are planning to travel any time before May 3rd, don’t forget to bring your mask. Yesterday, the CDC and the Biden administration is extending its face mask requirement for public transit for another 15 days. According to the CDC, they are extending the mandate “to assess the potential impact the rise of cases has on severe disease, including hospitalizations and deaths, and health care system capacity.” This decision was also made in response to the increasing spread of the omicron subvariant in the U.S. and an increase in the 7-day moving average of cases, which have risen by around 25% over the last two weeks nationally, and even higher in some states.
