Canandaigua Lake is experiencing an influx of toxic algae
Written by Site Hub on August 11, 2020
Apparently we have entered the season for harmful algal blooms or HABs, which is August 3rd until October 4th. The Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association has volunteers monitoring the waters. According to reports not all incidences have been cyanobacteria, which is known to be harmful to humans and pets. Places with public swimming usually test the water every day, it’s a good practice to check in on these reports before jumping in.
