Canadian Wildfires Cause Increased Air Pollution in Rochester

Wildfires in Canada have caused a fresh wave of smoke to descend on the region of Rochester.
The Environmental Protection Agency has indicated that the Air Quality Index in the area exceeded 150 yesterday morning, which implies that breathing conditions were unsafe, particularly for those who are more vulnerable. To combat this, Monroe County has established complimentary mask distribution centers at local libraries and Department of Motor Vehicles branches for those who require or desire masks.
Monroe County’s Executive, Adam Bello, urged the public saying, “I kindly request that you comprehend your personal risk level under these varying thresholds and take the essential measures to safeguard both yourself and your loved ones.”
