Camp Good Days, a nonprofit known for supporting families affected by cancer, has expanded its community outreach by launching Project T.I.P.S. (Trust, Information, Programs, and Services), a summer initiative to build stronger connections between Rochester residents and law enforcement. The program kicked off with door-to-door surveys gathering quality-of-life data, followed by a community cookout featuring games, raffles, and pony rides. Local agencies also provided job resources and professional development information. According to Camp Good Days’ Director of Community Initiatives, James R. McCauley Jr., the initiative is about creating trust and preventing misunderstandings between police and the public. The effort is part of the organization’s broader Partners Against Violence Everywhere (PAVE) campaign. Additional Project T.I.P.S. events are scheduled throughout the summer on June 26, July 31, and August 28. The initiative represents a proactive step toward violence prevention, promoting open dialogue and community empowerment in a city working to improve safety and trust.
