The Buffalo Bills found a way to take down the Raiders on the road, 33-30. Now they head into their bye week with a 5-1 record and winners of two straight. Both teams left a lot on the table, with Raiders’ kicker Matt Gay hitting all three of his field goals from 35 yards and in. Tyler Bass went 4-for-4 on field goals for the Bills.

But the offenses still moved the ball, other than getting stopped in the red zone a few times. Josh Allen didn’t do much on the ground, but passed for 255 yards, with Keon Coleman on the receiving end for 59 of those and a touchdown. James Cook had 58 receiving yards to go along with 95 yards on the ground and one rushing TD.

The Raiders got great quarterback play from Kirk Cousins, who threw for 313 yards. He did have one costly pick, with Bills lineback Dorian Williams snatching it and setting up Buffalo for a third quarter touchdown. Still, the secondary was a big issue for Buffalo, with Tre Tucker burning them for 97 yards and two scores, including one in the final two minutes.

The Bills also lost defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson, who was kicked out of the game for spitting at Raiders’ tight end Brock Bowers. They also didn’t play with wide receiver DJ Moore, who missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury.

Next up for Buffalo is a bye week with their next game not until Nov. 1 against Baltimore. The Bills will be back home for that game, their first game at Highmark Stadium since a week four loss to New England. At 5-1, the Bills remain in first place of the AFC East.
