The Bills cutdown day saw rookie running back Frank Gore Jr., among the notable cuts. The son of the former Bill and longtime NFL running back was the team’s leading rusher during the preseason. Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers, who played very well in training camp and also showed some flashes during the preseason, also failed to make the 53-man roster, and no surprise was former Olympic wrestler Gable Steveson. The United Kingdom native, who’s part of theNFL International Player Pathway Program, had never played a snap of football before.

While the Bills made several notable cuts, Buffalo native and rookie linebacker Joe Andreessen made the final roster. The University at Buffalo alum, who went to the Bills on tryout day, is now set to make his NFL dreams come true with his hometown team. Cornerback JaMarcus Ingram, another UB graduate, also made the final roster cut.
