Broad Street Bridge to Close for Genesee River Cleanup

Rochester officials announced that the Broad Street Bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 23–24, 2025, for debris removal from the Genesee River. The Department of Environmental Services will lead the effort. The closure affects both vehicles and pedestrians, with exceptions for emergency vehicles. Drivers are advised to use nearby bridges, including Court Street, Andrews Street, and Main Street, during the cleanup.
