The Brighton Fire Department is encouraging more women to join its ranks by hosting its second annual Female Firefighter Field Day.
With a decline in new firefighter recruits in recent years, the department launched the event last year to boost interest.
Nineteen women participated in the first event, and one went on to become a volunteer.
Due to its success, the department is bringing the initiative back this year.
