During the arraignment of Jermaine Williams in Rochester City Court on June 1, 2024, a brawl erupted. Williams, charged with the May 6 double homicide of Timothy Chealey and Shatina Jones on Rialto Street, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges. The incident, stemming from an altercation at a concert, left two dead and another injured. Williams was apprehended in Niagara Falls the day before his arraignment.

As Williams was escorted from the courtroom, a loud brawl broke out, prompting deputies to intervene, with one using pepper spray. Two individuals were charged with disorderly conduct. Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Adam VanHeyst expressed sympathy for the victims’ families, emphasizing their innocence. Williams was remanded without bail, and additional charges may be considered by a grand jury at his next court date on Wednesday.
