‘Big U’ Henley Arrested in RICO Case

Written by on March 24, 2025

Eugene “Big U” Henley, a known hip-hop industry figure and alleged leader of the Rollin’ 60s Crips, has been indicted in a sweeping RICO case. Federal prosecutors accuse him of running a criminal enterprise involved in murder, fraud, extortion, and racketeering. The 107-page indictment alleges Henley extorted athletes and celebrities like Draymond Green and Shaquille O’Neal under the guise of offering protection. His nonprofit, Developing Options, received $2.35 million in public funding, which prosecutors claim was misused. Authorities also accuse Henley of orchestrating the 2021 murder of rapper Rayshawn Williams in Las Vegas. More than a dozen others are charged in connection with the case. Despite Henley’s public persona as a community leader and entrepreneur, U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally described him as a “murderer, thief, and cheat.” Henley denies the allegations and turned himself in to authorities.
