Beyonce’s New Song ‘Be Alive’ Could Be Her Ticket to Winning an Oscar

On Thursday, a new trailer for the Biopic “King Richard” was released, featuring a new song by Beyonce. The film stars Will Smith as Richard Williams, the ambitious father who catapulted Venus & Serena into tennis superstardom. The family film hits theatres and HBO Max on November 19, 2021.
According to Variety and Forbes, Smith is a front runner to win Best Actor at 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022.
Although he has been nominated in the past, Will Smith has never won an Oscar. ‘King Richard’ could change all that; and give Queen Bey an opportunity to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.
The BeyHive was shocked and appalled when Beyonce was snubbed for her performance in the 2019 live action version of the Lion King. In addition to playing the role of Nala, Beyonce also created the song “Spirit” for the blockbuster film.
Since it’s release, the song has been streamed more than 40 million times on Spotify, but even that was not enough to earn the nomination by the Academy.
With all the Oscar buzz around “King Richard”, fans are hopeful that Will Smith and Beyonce will finally get the recognition they deserve.
Listen to Beyonce’s “Be Alive” and let us know if you think it’s Oscar-worthy.
