Batavia Cardiologist Using Music to Help Heal
Written by Site Hub on July 27, 2021
Dr. Harry McCrea, a cardiologist at United Memorial Medical Center, has brought out his guitar to help his patients. McCrea started playing his guitar in hopes of bringing comfort to his patients during the pandemic.
As the pandemic seems to have passed its climax, McCrea still chooses to play for his patients. He carries the belief that nothing beats the healing power of music.
McCrea stated:
“I think everyone has been grasping for some sense of normalcy, but also things just to let them know that it’s going to be okay. And I think people find music very soothing.”
Although his goal is to help others, he believes music has also made him a better doctor and he hopes his patients are reminded of how much medical staff care for them.
