Barbershops And Salons Cleared To Open No Cost PPE Information
Written by Andre on May 30, 2020
Officially we are in Phase 2 of reopening of Monroe County which means barbershops and salons can now open. However, they need to follow certain requirements in order to conduct business.
If you are a licensed hair stylist, barber, or colorist and you need face shields the county will supply them to you. There will be no cost to you for the face sheilds or any other personal protective equipment you may need.
However, barbershops and salons must email Monroe County officials to get the PPE at COVID19@MonroeCounty.gov. In the subject line you must put Request for PPE for Barbershop or Salon in the subject line.
The email must include: Contact name and phone number. Quantity of face shields, surgical masks, gloves and 1-gallon jugs of hand sanitizer requested. Proof of NYS Appearance Enhancement Operator or Barber Operator license. Names of employees for each face shield requested (1 per person).
Any barber or hairstylist that can not obtain a face shield or PPE through their employer you can also submit a request.
After approval pick up directions will be sent via email.
Pick up times will be:
- Friday, May 29 from 3 – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, May 30 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5 from 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.
