Attention Costco Shoppers: Limits on Toilet Paper and Cleaning Supplies Are Back

Just when we thought the days of toilet paper and cleaning supplies shortages were over, Costco has announced new limits on purchases of certain household items as supply chain issues occur and the delta variant spreads. Costco says that they are putting “limitations on key items” such as toilet paper, bottled water, and cleaning supplies so it can meet upcoming demands due to the COVID-19 surge. Costco did not state how much customers will be allowed to purchase.

Costco Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti stated: “A year ago there was a shortage of merchandise.” Galanti continued by saying that Costco has plenty of merchandise, but delivery delays are the issue, stating “short-term changes to trucking” and “delivery need” are the major factors.
