Aretha Franklin’s Granddaughter Grace Reacts to her American Idol Audition

In the latest episode of American Idol, the audience was shocked to see Grace Franklin, Aretha Franklin’s granddaughter, not advance to the next round. Grace, 15, and her father and Aretha’s son, Kecalf, spoke with TMZ to share how she was disappointed after being told “no,” but the advice from Lionel Richie gave her a positive outlook on her future career.
Grace stated; “I’m a good artist, I know that, but I do know I need to work on some things. The fact that he did not want me to stumble and fall too early really stuck with me because I [got] exactly what he was saying.” Grace was ultimately turned down from moving on to the next round with a split decision from the judges.
