Angel Cooper Vause, the 56-year-old girlfriend of Raymond Moody, who was convicted of killing Brittanee Drexel, is set to plead guilty to lying to federal investigators during the investigation. Vause will appear in U.S. District Court in Charleston for a plea hearing, where she could face up to 10 years in prison. She was indicted in March for providing false information to the FBI. Moody, who confessed to the 2009 murder of Drexel in October 2022, is serving a life sentence. Vause had claimed she went home to retrieve keys during the time Drexel was being assaulted and killed, but prosecutors revealed she was elsewhere. Her false statements played a key role in leading to Moody’s eventual confession.
