AMC Theaters Vs. Universal Studios Over Trolls Movie Will Change The Movie Game

Written by on April 30, 2020

Who would’ve thought a movie like “Trolls World Tour” would lead to a feud between AMC theaters and Universal Studios. But that’s what we have, after the movie was available to watch on demand and took in over $100 million within the month. Yes, with Theaters closed.

How does this lead to a problem with AMC theaters and Universal Studios. Welp, Universal Studios didn’t wait the traditional 90 days after the release of the movies to make the movie available on demand. Upsetting AMC theaters who clearly haven’t been open because of COVID-19. The feud is so bad that AMC is now refusing to play Universal Movies in its theaters.

That being said, I have to admit I was one of the parents that bought a movie on demand for my kids. Given our current situation they wanted to see it and they really enjoyed it. Listen, I grew up watching big movies in movie theaters and I don’t think I’ll ever change. But I can clearly see change is coming. Are Team Movie Theater or Team Home Theater? Either way, movie lovers Win!
