Amazon Will No Longer Test People Applying For Jobs For Marijuana
Written by Andre on June 4, 2021
Amazon said earlier this week that they will no longer test job applicants for marijuana. In the past, they have disqualified individuals looking for a job who tested positive for weed. Amazon is the second-largest private employer in the country as Walmart is in the top spot.
The company said that it is for the legalization of weed across the country. Even though weed is legal in some states and Amazon changed its policy they will still have to test for other types of drugs and narcotics. They will also have to test people looking to work in the areas regulated by the Department of Transportation.
Amazon is also supporting marijuana on the federal level with the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment Expungement Act.
