Al Roker Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Al Roker has recently confirmed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will be having surgery in the near future.
The Today news anchor gave an optimistic statement on Friday, saying:
“It’s a little more common than people I think realize, and so I just decided that I wanted to go public with this because 1 in 9 men are going to be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime,” Roker added. “But for African-American men, that number is 1 in 7 and is more deadly.”
He also added that he found out about his condition on 9/29 during a routine physical, stressing the importance of going to the doctor for regular checkups.
