You know I really love being a nerd! So the other night I was looking for something to watch while I was washing dishes and I came across one of the PBS series on WXXI. It’s called Hacking Your Mind and the episode is Us vs Them.
It takes a look at how misinformation, lies, and mistruths influence our mind and our perception of reality. It also discusses the division that is ripping America apart.
What interested me the most is the experiment they did with misinformation. They used a dog in the first part of the experiment and then a child in the second part. The reason for the experiment was to see if the dog or the child would belive the misinformation given to them.
Which one do you think fell for the lie the dog or the child?
I’ll give you a hint. Dogs are more intelligent than you think!
People will believe the lie before they believe the truth.
