Actor/Rapper Common Joins Starbucks For Racial Bias Training

Common was enlisted by Starbucks to help create the new racial bias training program implemented by the coffee company for all employees at it’s 8,000 stores nationwide on Tuesday.
Rapper, actor, activist, and now consultant for Starbucks, Common will be narrating the videos used for training employees. He also helped to create the program along with former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Sherrilyn Ifill of the NAACP.
Common was on Good Morning America Tuesday and said “Starbucks was just a microcosm of how black people have been dehumanized and I wanted to be a part of that conversation.”
He also said that “We gotta hold Starbuck’s responsible,” and he goes on to say “We gotta hold political officials accountable, any businesses that we support, And we gotta hold ourselves accountable. That’s why I’m a part of this conversation.”
