According To Orange Zone Protocol, Gyms Close Up For 2 Weeks

Written by on November 25, 2020

According to the new regulations surrounding the “orange zone” designation, gyms are required to close their doors this morning.

Most gyms made the necessary preparations on Tuesday, but the designation goes by infection zone, so not everyone is closing up shop.

There are two LA Fitnesses in Rochester that will be temporary closing their doors: the East Avenue Location and the Greece Location on West Ridge Rd.

Other gyms like the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA are temporarily suspending their memberships.

The Louis C Wolk Jewish Community Center has announced that it will be closing its gym today as well.

Josh Weinstein, the CEO of the Louis C. Wolk JCC commented on this development, saying:

“I’ve had a lot of texts, a lot of phone calls, seeing people in the halls, where I can see there’s a lot of disappointment, but I think the community understands we’re in the middle of a pandemic.”
