ABC’s comedy show “Abbott Elementary” walked off with a few Emmy Awards last night. Quinta Brunson won the Emmy for writing in a comedy series and is the first Black woman to earn three nominations in the comedy categories in the same year. Sheryl Lee Ralph, also won outstanding supporting actress.
Zendaya won the Emmy for best actress in a drama series for her role as troubled teenager Rue Bennett on HBO’s “Euphoria.” She is a two-time winner in this category. She also nabbed the award in 2020.
