A Second Stimulus Check May Be Coming
Written by Site Hub on June 17, 2020
Officials at the treasury department are beginning to suggest that Americans should receive another round of stimulus checks to aid in the economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
There have been a couple of different ideas being floated around. One, which was passed by democrats in the senate, is called the HEROES Act. It expands eligibility requirements and offers another round of $1,200 checks to qualified Americans – both adults and children.
You can find out how much money you could receive through the HEROE’s act here.
On the republican side, Texas Rep. Kevin Brady has a bill in mind that would provide people receiving unemployment benefits who go back to their jobs a one time payment of $1200, or two weekly payments of $600.
Ohio Senator Rob Portman has proposed a bill that would give laid-off Americans that return to work an additional $450 in addition to their wages for a period of time.
The senate is still in summer recess until July 20, so we probably won’t hear anything definate before then.
