Early Morning Earthquake Buffalo, Largest Recorded in 40 years

Yesterday morning, Buffalo was awakened with a bit of a shake. According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake originated near West Seneca, a town just south of Buffalo, around 6:15 am. According to the Associated Press, a seismologist said it was the region’s strongest quake in at least 40 years. The largest earthquake seen in Western New York’s history was a 4.7 magnitude quake that occurred in Corfu in August 1929.
