New York Parents Sue School District Sued For “Emotional Distress” Prompted By Mask Enforcement

Two New York mothers are suing their children’s public school district, Riverhead Central School District located on Long Island, for causing “emotional distress” by enforcing mask-wearing despite the overturning of a state mandate. The mask mandate policy went into effect in August 2021, and has been accused of being “cruel” and “unusual” due to alleged repercussions students would face if they did not comply. RCSD’s (Riverhead Central School District) school board voted to end its mask enforcement in March 2022.
