Monroe County is one of many counties in New York State that has been issued an elevated drought warning by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Department of Environmental Services.

Due to the lack of rainfall this season stream levels and groundwater levels are extremely low Gov. Cuomo said in a statement.  He is urging residents throughout the state to continue to conserve water whenever possible during the coming months.

There are no mandatory restrictions yet regarding water usage. However, you should use less water whenever possible for example try showering together with your significant other or have your kids sweep the sidewalks and driveways instead of you using a hosing them down.
