Written by on March 8, 2022

During her stop in Rochester yesterday morning, Governor Kathy Hochul pledged millions for the Finger Lakes region at Monroe Community College’s downtown campus. According to Governor Hochul’s proposed budget, the state is committing $100 million to help fill in the Inner Loop, which bisected city neighborhoods years ago, rural areas will get $1 million to help farmers and develop low-cost housing, and the creation of the High Falls State Park.

Governor Hochul stated: “Many things are happening, and it’s a huge point of pride for me because I know what that’s like. When thousands of jobs left, this community felt beaten down. I’ve lived through that. And now we are back and that is a beautiful feeling that we all share…Show us your vision. What do you want to see for your kids and grandkids someday? What is the legacy you want to help create?” You can send your ideas for the community to rochighfallspark@esd.ny.gov
