NYS Lifts School Mask Mandate

Starting Wednesday, the New York State school mask mandate, as well as the children 2 years and older in childcare facilities, will officially be lifted. This announcement from Governor Kathy Hochul comes from just 2 days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) outlined new guidance for areas that aren’t experiencing high transmission of COVID-19.
Governor Hochul stated; “Also this is up to parents, individual parents have their own knowledge of their children, they know their children’s health, they know their tolerance for the mask, they know whether or not for them if they have an underlying health condition, that they would want to keep the masks on.”
