Dr. Fauci Predicts COVID-19 Winter Season

Written by on November 9, 2021

Our weather might be warm right now in Rochester, but it’s time to be prepared at any moment when it will snow. Also, tis’ the season for various holiday celebrations. As we navigate the last two months of 2021, Dr. Fauci speaks on his predictions for COVID-19 this winter season. While this summer we have seen a decline in hospitalizations for COVID-19, unfortunately, this once decline is now increasing. According to the CDC, COVID-19 is still killing more than 1,000 people in the US every day, and new cases are about 72,000 a day.

Here’s what Dr. Fauci had to say; “Certainly, things are going in the right direction with the diminution of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. The steepness of the deflection is not as good as it was, let’s say, a month or so ago … it’s down to a lower number…So as we go into the winter months with the challenge of a respiratory infection being worse in the winter months, we can get through this if we really put a lot of effort into getting as many people vaccinated as we possibly can.”
