Historic Moment: The First Black Winner On Big Brother 23
Written by Andre on October 4, 2021
History was made this year on the TV show Big Brother as they crowned the very first black winner. For me, this was the BEST season of Big Brother on CBS since I’ve been watching. I started with Big Brother 14 and have been watching since rooting for at times the sole black player.
Having been disappointed time and time again this season Big Brother 23 was unique from the start. Seeing all of those beautiful people who look like me was a surprise! I teared up because I knew this season would be much different but little did I know how incredible it would turn out to be.
The keyword is UNITY. Not only was it the first time a black person won but it was the first time an alliance of six members made it to the end together. The Cookout – Tiffany, Xavier, Hannah, Derek F., Azah, and Kyland.
The six-member alliance held it together until jury guaranteeing the first black man or woman a victory on BB. Again, this was the best season I’ve ever watched!
Congratulations to Xavier for the win ($750,000) and also to Tiffany for winning America’s vote ($50,000). It was beautiful!!
Hats off to our #BB23 champion 🏆✨ pic.twitter.com/ygjps91bh9

In a historic move, the Cookout accomplished their mission and did what no other alliance was ever done – they made it to the final and 6 unscathed. 🙌🏽 Who do you think has the best path to victory? #BB23 pic.twitter.com/HTHcS0Z6eC
