The University of Rochester Medical Center is starting to research whether or not we will need vaccination boosters or if they are even effective.
They are testing the boosters by mixing the vaccines.
Infectious disease professor and researcher, Dr. Ann Falsey stated:
“What we want to do is stay ahead of the problem. Frequently with COVID, we’re playing catch up.”
Researchers are wondering if our bodies are able to build more protective antibodies with a combination of what we already have.
Dr. Falsey explains more about what this means and said:
“You want to know, can you do it? And you also want to know, if you do it, will you boost immunity? There are some vaccines when you give multiple shots, you reach a plateau.”
