Irondequoit Police Officer Resigns After Using Racial Slur

Written by on July 26, 2021

A now-former Irondequoit Police Officer has turned in his badge after an incident at a bar on East Ave. Jason Hughes resigned from the IPD last week after he allegedly used a racial slur. The incident took place at Temple Bar on East Ave. Hughes was not on duty at the time.

The Irondequoit Town Supervision said they were made aware of the situation last weekend. The investigation began right after Hughes resigned according to reports. However, the investigation will not continue due to the fact that Hughes resigned from his position.

He will not face any disciplinary action because he no longer works with the IPD.

I have a question…. If he resigned would he be able to become an officer in another police department in the U.S.?

If so that is a BIG problem.
