Child Dead, 8 Hospitalized and Officers Injured in House Fire

Memorial Day morning, a house caught fire in Rochester. There was extensive damage to the home and it has since been deemed unlivable.
The house fire left eight people hospitalized, six of which were children. With that, one 12-year-old child has been pronounced dead.
The Rochester police were the first to respond to the scene. Two were injured while rescuing 3-4 residents.
The Rochester Fire Executive Deputy Chief stated:
”Today is Memorial Day, everybody is out supposed to be having a good time and enjoying their families, today is a tragic day for these people. The worst day of their lives probably.”
