New Law In Place To Curb Illegal ATVs And Dirt Bikes On Roads

Its official, county legislature has approved a new law to crack down on illegal ATVs and dirt bikes. Lawmakers voted Tuesday for the new law that will help police impound or remove illegal vehicles. This is a county-wide move to keep roadways safe from the use of off-road vehicles.

The new measures include increased fees and the power to impound illegal ATVs and dirt bikes. The fees can range from $500 up to $2000 and possibly total $3000.

Also, riders must wear a state-certified helmet and have proof of ownership. Registration will be required in order to get the vehicle from the impound.

The vote by lawmakers was 29-0 in favor of the law.
