New York State Senate Republicans Are Rolling Back Cuomo’s Food With Alcohol Sale Mandate

Written by on March 11, 2021

There is a new resolution being introduced by New York State Republicans that will be rolling back Governor Andrew Cuomo’s requirements that say bars and restaurants can only serve alcohol to customers that order food.

“Our bars and restaurants continue to struggle under burdensome mandates passed on by the Governor,” Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt said in a statement issued Wednesday, “and lifting this one is a no-brainer that would immediately help these businesses get back on their feet.”

Since the Governor’s emergency powers are no longer in effect, the State Senate has more say in what happens with other restrictions put in place.
