70th NBA All Star Game Will Highlight The Accomplishments of Students From HBCU’s

The NBA 70th All-Star Game will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta Georgia tomorrow. Normally the event lasts a couple of days, but because of COVID-19, everything will be taking place in one day to maintain safety.

In addition to the new safety protocol, the NBA is planning on contributing $3 million to HBCUs and communities that were hit hardest by the coronavirus.

The NBA will also be highlighting the accomplishments of students from HBCU’s and spotlight them via the Michelob Ultra Courtside virtual fan experience, student artwork, in-arena activations and merchandise.

NBA’s Chief People and Inclusion Officer Oris Stuart gave a statement, saying:

“We’re attempting to go beyond just the idea of supporting HBCUs but truly integrating the HBCU experience, and the history of their contributions into all aspects of what’s going to happen on Sunday. So I couldn’t be happier that it came up and really thrilled about how this all is coming together.”
