During the WDKX morning show we had Monroe County executive Adam Bello live on air. He was telling us about the shortage of the COVID-19 vaccine.
On a shipment going to Michigan there was over 12,000 doses of the Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine became no good after the vaccines temperature were too cold.
The 12,000 Moderna doses twere shipped over the weekend from Texas. Now each shipment of the vaccines contains a device that keeps track of it’s temperature.
The Federal recommendations for the vaccines temperature should range between minus 13 degrees to 5° Fahrenheit in order to be able to be effective.
Monroe County executive Adam Bello said that the Rochester area received 1,200 doses and that’s only a day supply So to hear that 12,000 doses were wasted sounds like a lot of money lost.
