Internet Access Funded For RCSD Students For The Rest Of School Year

Written by on November 27, 2020

Good news for Rochester City School District and its students. We have received calls and texts from parents about issues with the internet students have been dealing with. Because of the internet issues, a few organizations donated money to help students of the RCSD.

The Rochester City School District is fully remote so having access to a stable and reliable internet connection is key for students and their education.

All together multiple philanthropist, businesses, and people gave money to raise $855,000. The money raised will secure unlimited data and access to high-speed internet usage for students through August.

There was a grant from Max and Martin Farash Charitable Foundation for $240,000. That grant was matched dollar for dollar by ESL for $350,000.

Other entities that donated were Monroe County and Greater Rochester Health Foundation.
