Halle Berry and Netflix have partnered up to produce a mixed martial arts drama called “Bruised.” The only thing left up for discussion is the worldwide distribution rights which are reported as being worth around $20 million.
“Bruised” will be the first film that Berry has directed and was virtually screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Berry also plays a leading role as an MMA fighter trying to get back on her feet as an athlete and as a mother.
Apparently, during filming Berry broke a couple of ribs and production had to stop while she got better.
“I didn’t want to stop because I had prepared for so long,“ said Berry. “We had rehearsed; we were ready. I’m going to will myself through it. And so we did.”
